You know that feeling you get when you read a book and you have to reread the same sentence five times because it was soooooo boooooooooring?

Yeah… well that was my writing.

But honestly? I didn’t really care - I figured: “Well, my product is great, why wouldn’t people buy it??”

Boy, was I wrong.

VERY wrong.

Turns out, my writing was the equivalent of a toddler trying to explain quantum physics to a disabled duck… It didn't go down well AT ALL.

I Learnt This The Hard Way (So You Don’t Have To)

The product was perfect and I figured it was only a matter of time before sales rolled in. I mean, why wouldn’t they? It was everything my customer needed.

But the sales? Well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly flying in…

I stared at my screen in frustration, refreshing the sales page, hoping something would change.

But It didn’t.

The product I was so proud of was completely ignored. I couldn’t figure out why or what was going so wrong.

I knew I had to change something and I had to do it fast!

So I did. Instead of focusing on WHAT I was saying, I started to hone in on HOW I was saying it.

I made a few tweaks here and there and made my writing feel more like a conversation - shorter sentences, a dash of personality, a touch of humour and suddenly…

KA-CHING! - my sales increased!!!

The product didn’t change. The audience didn’t change. The only thing that did change?

My writing.

I started to write in a way that actually connected with my audience. And just like magic, my product flew off the proverbial shelf!

Turns out that even the best product in the world won’t sell if your writing bores people half to death…

“So How Can I Write Words That Sell?”

First off, you don’t need to be the next J.K. Rowling to get people excited about your offer.

Writing isn’t about sounding fancy or using big, impressive words…

No.

It’s way simpler than you think. You just need to sound like a human.

Here’s how:

- Write like you’re talking to a friend:

No complicated words, no fancy nonsense. Just keep it simple and concise!

- Inject some personality:

People like to buy from people.

Don’t be afraid to add a little bit of flair and show a sense of humour. If they like you, they’ll buy from you!

- Show them the benefits:

No one buys a product just because it’s good. They buy because it solves a problem or fills a need.

So tell them exactly how your product makes their life easier, happier and better.

These simple shifts in your writing can transform how people respond to your message - and that’s how you turn words into sales.

In the next few articles I’ll dive even deeper into how you can transform your writing into a sales generating machine!

Stay tuned - I’ve got some good stuff coming your way.
